on handpump. Theakstons cask wasn't on at the time. Four hand pumps altogether.
Also John Smiths smooth, Guinness Extra cold, Stella Artois, Fosters, Carling
Black label, Strongbow cider. Copper pans, wicker baskets and oil tilley lamps hanging from the ceiling. Walls had lots of large mirrors on them. Pictures of sporting gentlemen from Vanity Fair, Epsom race course. Plenty of seating and tables. There was a small area set up as a dance floor which had tables over it when we visited. Food area by bar. Music hall type music was being played. 'Come to the Cabaret' and 'Raindrops keep falling on my head'. The brass lamps and picture frames were being polished until it became busier. Once the bus station is open again it will be ideal for popping in while waiting for the bus. There is also a chippy next door. |
